In 1774, as a reaction to the Boston Tea Party, the British Parliament passed a progression of acts, called the Coercive Acts. These demonstrations smashed a large portion of the sanctioned privileges of Pilgrim Massachusetts and encroached on the privileges of alternate settlements. Americans responded with exchange blacklists, and they likewise started to gradually join together and take political power into their own particular hands.
