Three part motion problem:
A car is traveling 45mph through an intersection. A pedestrian is crossing the same street a block away at the next intersection. (A typical city block is 264 ft long.) The driver is looking at his/her cell phone. It takes 1.2s before the driver looks up and sees the pedestrian and another 0.53s to react and press the brake. The car slows with a steady acceleration of 27.89 ft/s2. Does the driver stop before hitting the pedestrian?
