It is still highly relevant because many racists still believe that mixing races is wrong and that having babies from two different raced parents should not happen.
“Desiree’s Baby” is still relevant since the readers are able to connect to the situations occured in the story to how life was at the time. In my opinion “Desiree’s Baby” is still studied because it shows a hard stance against racism and the views of it, something that is still part of society nowadays. In “Desiree’s Baby”, Kate Chopin wrote a story where irony was a key aspect that was taken from the outcome of each situation of the story.
"Désirée's Baby" is a short story by the American writer Kate Chopin, published in 1893. It is about miscegenation in Creole Louisiana during the antebellum period.
