The Swahili coast became a center of trade very quickly after the sea routes between Europe and Asia were established through the Indian Ocean. This coast was located in the eastern part of Africa, occupying the coastlines of the modern day countries of Tanzania, Mozambique, Kenya, and Somalia. It managed to develop very quickly and became very important because it was the most important stoppage place between Europe and Asia. This led to lot of contact with the Europeans and Asian, resulting in lot of new ideas and tech nologies to be introduced in this area. Also, the people from this area used the opportunity to trade with their goods that were attractive and valuable, so they managed to get lot of wealth as well through trade.
