the biblical moses's life began as a sheep herder like his parents. guarding his flock and scaring away preditors. this was their livelihood to survive in harsh times, a way of providing income for all family members.

The second chapter of Exodus records both the birth of Moses and the discovery of him in the basket! He was born by Hebrew slaves, and adopted into a royal Egyptian household after being found down the Nile. After discovering where he originally came from (a Hebrew family), Moses fled to present-day Arabian Peninsula. God then spoke to him, telling him to take the Hebrew slaves to the Promised Land. He led them out of slavery and received the Ten Commandments.
