The tensions observed in newly independent countries occur mainly in the economic and social arenas. This can be observed in late-independence African countries, where territories that bring together distinct and sometimes inimical states become a country, causing social, political, and economic conflicts. These countries have serious problems in forming a government that pleases everyone and as a consequence, public development policies are discontinued.
