This organ exists in its typical form in all vertebrates.
B) Produces high levels of progesterone and estrogen ==> Ovary.
The ovaries are the female gonads, where the eggs are produced. The ovaries are two in number and are part of the female reproductive system; they are the homologues of the testes.
Their primary function is the production of oocytes. They are also part of the endocrine system through the synthesis of sex hormones.
C) Produces high levels of testosterone ==> Testicle .
The testicles (testes) are the male gonads of the animals. They belong to the male reproductive system, they are the counterparts of the ovaries. They have a dual function, more or less expressed according to the periods of life:
* spermatogenesis
* steroidogenesis (hormonal role)
