PRICE
stands for Protection, Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation. It is a principle
used for addressing acute injuries that occur during sporting activities. The
brace is a part of the protection principle where once the onset of the injury,
the knee should be well protected to prevent further damage. Ice is for the
prevention of further swelling of the injured area while an elastic bandage is
for the principle of compression. These 3 combinations of materials will ensure
the successful transfer of an individual to medical care upon the onset of an injury.
