They were both African- Americans who wanted equal rights for everyone and stop the discrimination.
Jackie Robinson and Martin Luther King Jr. both contributed to the Civil Rights Movement. Robinson's dramatic breakthrough, being the first African American baseball player which ended segregation within baseball leagues. Much like Martin Luther King Jr. who also made a breakthrough in racial segregation when he gave his unique "I Have a Dream" speech. They both technically contributed to the ending of racial segregation.
