Cellular respiration is the process in which food  (complex material) is broken down into simpler substances to produce the energy in form of ATP (Adenosine tri-phosphate).
The reaction of cellular respiration is: 

C6H12O6    +   6O2      →     6CO2    +     6H2O

Glucose        oxygen           carbon           water
                                               dioxide

The products of cellular respiration are: Carbon dioxide (CO2) and  water (H2O)
