Eating healthy food helps us manage stress because these types of food contain the necessary nutrients necessary for proper brain function in the body. There are foods that release certain nutrients that cause good effects to the body. An example is chocolate, chocolate is known to contain a compound called tryptophan, an amino acid that releases serotonin. Serotonin is a type of neurotransmitter in the brain that transmits feelings of happiness, it is also known as the "happy chemical." This is no wonder that when a person consumes chocolates they emit feelings of happiness and reduce the level of stress that they are feeling.
