Diatoms are organisms that have cell walls made up of silica or hydrated silicon dioxide. They are a major group of algae that can form colonies in the shape of filaments or ribbons. Phytoplanktons are among the most common type of diatoms.
Tapeworms are organisms that both have male and female gonads that generate both sperm and eggs which are called hermaphroditic species. They can reproduce sexually through self-fertilization or cross-fertilization with another tapeworm. They can reproduce asexually, by breaking of segments at the end of their trunks to produce a new tapeworm.
