The pituitary gland is the gland that controls
and regulates all other glands of the body. It is often dubbed as the
"master gland" because the hormones that it secretes control other
parts of the endocrine system. The different endocrine systems are: thyroid,
adrenal, ovaries, and testes glands. Though the pituitary gland is termed as
the "master gland" it still does not perform all the other functions
of the other glands. The
pituitary gland is located at the base of the brain.
