When two fractions refer to the same whole, explain why the fraction with a lesser denominator has larger pieces than the fraction with a greater denominator.

Respuesta :

because the fraction with a smaller denominator has lass sections within the whole it makes each section bigger than a fraction with a bigger denominator.
Imagine if you were to divide a pie into 3 equal parts. Each slice would be bigger than if you were to divide a pie into, say, 5 equal parts.

Hope this helps!
