farmers were finding themselves in debt. The small farmers were finding
it hard to compete. Texans wanted the President to help them.
This actually happened during the Great depressions in the early 20th Century. Farmers were particularly hit hard by decreasing employment and a lack of demand for their products. All this resulted in a circular debt trap that was making life very difficult for them.
There was even a Farmer's Revolt about to take place and Texans wanted the President to step in the resolve the problem.
