Pendulum period in seconds T ≈ 2π√(L/G) L is length of pendulum in meters G is gravitational acceleration = 9.8 m/s² 
So the answers are the following:
a) use G = 9.8 + 5.0 = 14.8 m/s²b) use G = 9.8 – 5.0 = 4.8 m/s² c) 2π√(L/G) = 2pi √5/9.8 = 4.49 m/s^2
