English philosopher Thomas Hobbes,
in his 1651 book titled “Leviathan”, which established the social contract theory,
postulated that to achieve peace for ourselves and to avoid death; humans enter
into a SOCIAL CONTRACT and submit to an overarching sovereign authority charged
with ensuring peace for everyone.
