There were over thousands of City-states in Greece, but the most prominent was the Athens, Sparta, Corinth, Thebes and many more. Each City-states ruled themselves because of the geographical condition. The city-states connected to all Greek through their religious beliefs, language, and citizenship. Each city-state were all protected with an outer wall and consists of an urban centre with temples, government building along the surrounding countryside.
