Subtract 2 4/5 oz from 7 1/4 oz. One way would be to convert 2 4/5 oz to 2.8 oz and 7 1/4 oz to 7.25 oz. Then 7.25 oz - 2.8 oz = 4.45 oz, or 4 9/20 oz.
Note that the LCD here is 20, which shows up in my "4 9/20" answer.
it really depends om how many friends there are but i got 3/20 or 0.15 because you calculate the products 7x1/4-2x4/5=7/4-8/5 which your final answer will be 3/20 or 0.15
