Martin Luther is one of the most popular figures in Western History. His teachings were responsible for the integration of the Catholic Church and the Protestant Reformation. Various electors respond to Luther's call for religious reform because he believes that the bible is the main source of religious authority and that salvation is reached through faith and not acts that shaped the core Protestantism. Luther is influential because of his writings that led to significant religious reform and division. He insisted that as the only source of religious authority the Bible be translated and made available to everyone is truly revolutionary in his times.
