x + y = 90....x = 90 - y
35x + 45y = 3550

35(90 - y) + 45y = 3550
3150 - 35y + 45y = 3550
-35y + 45y = 3550 - 3150
10y = 400
y = 400/10
y = 40 <== 40 orchestra tickets

x = 90 - y
x = 90 - 40
x = 50 <== 50 balcony tickets
