Answer:
The Ottoman Empire has been one of the strongest, and best known empires in the world, especially because they became the gateway between the East and the West, Christian Europe and the Muslim world. Starting in the 1300´s, this empire saw its final days just at the end of World War I, and right before World War II.
The most important factor that led to the decline, and finally, the end, of the Ottoman Empire, was, the loss of central authority due to the fact that the sultans, starting with Suleyman I, decided to delegate some of their authority into the hands of others, so they could focus on more personal matters. This decision, placed into question not just the control that the sultans exerted over their people, but it also opened the door for conflict between different factions inside the empire, which in the end, broke up, unable to withstand the division, and the corruption.
