Lot of Chinese people were killed, or they died because of living in terrible conditions, and that resulted in the decrease in the population in the northern part of China. Also, because the Chinese people were second class citizens and lived in terrible conditions, it was very easy for diseases to spread out, and the epidemics were very common, which resulted in even greated decrease in the Chinese population.
