Respuesta :
Sunlight doesn't reach quite as well in deeper parts of the ocean. Therefore, the autotrophs cannot use photosynthesis to make food.
Solar energy is the limiting factor for autotroph at the great depth in the ocean.
- As light cannot penetrate deep in the ocean autotroph can’t perform photosynthesis.
- Autotrophs are generally found in the continental shelf part of the ocean up to 100m in depth.
What is limiting factor?
It is anything that constraint a population’s size and slows or stops it from growing.
Limiting factors can be:-
- Biotic factors like food, mates and competition.
- Abiotic factors like sunlight, water, air.
