What is a Tropical cyclone?
A Tropical cyclone may be defined as a rapidly rotating storm originating over tropical oceans from where it draws the energy to develop.
The high surface temperatures and humidity make the way favorable for the tropical cyclone to occur in the South Pacific ocean and the Indian ocean. Both oceans significantly carry warm water.
The North pacific ocean and Atlantic ocean carry cool water, and hence do not support tropical cyclones.
Therefore, the two locations in which tropical cyclones occur are the South Pacific ocean and the Indian ocean.
