{Science Question} (#3.) Photosynthesis If photosynthesis and cellular respiration form a cycle, why do plants need to continually take in carbon dioxide, oxygen, and water from the environment?
The glucose is then turned back into carbon dioxide, which is used inphotosynthesis. While water is broken down to form oxygen during photosynthesis, in cellular respiration oxygen is combined with hydrogen to form water.
Plants release excess oxygen, carbon dioxide, and water back into the environment. They don’t store them indefinitely. So, they continually need to take in these elements.
