There will be four solutions to the system of equations.
What is a quadratic equation?
An algebraic equation of the second degree in x is a quadratic equation. The quadratic equation is written as ax2 + bx + c = 0, where x is the variable, and a must not be zero.
For example 3x² + 6x + 8 = 0 here x has highest term as 3 and coefficient of x² is not zero
Given equation are
x² + 4y² = 100 and
4y - x² = -20 ⇒ x² = 4y + 20
By substituting into the first equation
4y² + 4y = 80
Since in quadratic equation there will be 2 solutions,
Corresponding to y's solution there will be 2 x's solution.
So there will be total of 4 x's solutions.
So the number of solution for the given equation will be 4.
