so hmm notice the picture below
the "triangular prism" is really just 3 rectangles and 2 triangles stacked up to each other at the edges
so.. to get the surface area... just get the area of the 3 rectangles and the triangles
now.. the rectangle facing up, that's just a 19x16
the rectangle facing back, that's just a 15.2x16
the one at the bottom is 16*(x) whatever "x" is
the area of a triangle is 1/2*bh, as you'd know already
we know the height, is 15.2, the base is "x"
now... look in the picture, simply use the pythagorean theorem to get "x", since the triangle is a right-triangle
once you get "x", get the area of each triangle, and also the rectangle at the bottom
then sum up all areas, of the 3 rectangles and the 2 triangles, and that's the surface area of the triangular prism

now... the volume of will be, the are of one of the triangles
times
the length of the prism
namely (1/2*bh) * (16)
