Continental drift is a phenomena used to describe that a how a large landmass Pangea was splitted and drifted into small continents, which were drifted to locations different from that where the landmass orginally situated. The evidence of the continental drift can be observed from fossil distribution and rocks. As, when the landmass was broken into small continents the living animals and plants also displaced and distributed to continents. These plants and animals when died when turned up into fossils which resemble that of fossils found in other related continents. Also, the rock compositions were found to be same in these separated continents.
