What is the rate of change in mass?

We know that the term rate has to do with the way that something changes with time. We can see that the mass of dialysis bag is changing with time. To obtain the rate, we have to find the ratio of the change in mass to the change in time.

  • Change in mass = 11.15 g - 10.65 g = 0.5 g
  • Change in time = 30 minutes - 10 minutes = 20 minutes or 1200 s or 1.2 kilo seconds
