According to the classical, or tripartite, account of knowledge, Knowledge should always be justified, true belief. You must believe it, it must be true and be justified in your belief.

"Necessary and adequate conditions" for knowledge that p. are the conditions that attempt to equate to knowledge.
There is no alternative analysis of knowledge that can be used to determine that p, thus if you know that p, you have a justified true belief in p.
All three prerequisites must be met:
- You are unaware of p if you don't believe in it, believe it to be false or believe it while being unjustified.
- If you can't have Y without X, X is a requirement of Y.
- Conditions that must exist for another item to exist are known as necessary conditions.
- If the presence of X and Y ensures the occurrence of Z, then X and Y are adequate conditions for Z.
