Both hazardous and non-hazardous jobs cannot employ anyone under the age of 14. The Act forbids the employment of child less than 14 years old in specific industries, including mining, the handloom and power loom sector, carpet weaving, bidi-making, automobile workshops, and household labour.

Non-farm jobs like- manufacturing and bagging of cement, construction and building industry, manufacture of fireworks, explosives, and matches etc are hazardous job.
