To design or engineer something that would make life easier for someone in need of a limb, bionics as a biomedical field is most appropriate.
Biomechanics is a branch of biophysics that involves the study of the structure, function and motion of the mechanical aspects of biological systems, from organs, cells ,organelles and whole organism using the methods of mechanics.
In other to design a work to help individuals who were born without limbs or who have lost a limb, it would be appropriate to use bionics.
It is of great need to design a limb because it would be used to replace the person's lost limb or fixed as one for the person with none.
