For example, I take the 4 under the x section and substitute x in the equation, 3x + 1 for 4 which would look look like 3(4) + 1. Now to get y solve it. In this equation 3(4) + 1 would equal 13. For the (x, y) part substitute the numbers under x and put the number. then substitute y for the answer to the equation. It would look like this.
Ex: x | 3x + 1 | y | (x, y)
3 3(3) + 1 10 (3, 10)
