In a scientific sense the blood carries nutrients that your body needs to survive. it even carries oxygen. Hope this helps :)
The hemoglobin in your blood carries life-giving oxygen to all of your cells, and takes waste away. If your cells don't get oxygen, they die. When you lose a lot of blood, you die (because your body can't get enough oxygen). Your blood also carries any disease you may have, and the antibodies you have against disease. Your blood is the most important fluid in your body, it touches every cell and is a vital part of every system.
