The psychoanalytic approach is when children move through a series of stages in which they face conflicts between biological drives and social expectations. Therefore, fear oft he dark reflects and unconscious motive or anxiety. For example, a psychoanalyst might explain that the child’s fear comes from anxiety about nighttime separation from the parent. Once the anxiety is fixed, the fear will be brought to a minimum.-However, the behaviorists approach focuses on environmental occurrences and behavioral responses. This would cause the child to be scared of the dark if a previous and my opinion is that you should talk to the child and help them become over there fear by practicing with them and showing them that sometimes things cant reaaly be there and its just there imagination
