According to 1 John, if a person claims to be a follower of Christ, his life should be Christ-like, in action and in deed.

What is Christianity?

This refers to the religious belief in Jesus Christ and that he came to Earth to die for the sins of mankind and followers are called Christians.

Hence, we can see that based on the teachings of Jesus which he also taught to his disciples, Christians should always act in love with one other and live Christ-like.
