Explanation:

AIM is a Native American activist organization organized in Minneapolis, Minnesota in July 1968. Originally, A.I.M. was established in metropolitan communities to tackle systemic problems of injustice and police violence against Native American people.

The initial aim was to support urban ghettos Indians that had been marginalized by govt. policies that pushed them out of the reserves.

Its aims eventually included the full range of Indian demands — economic freedom, revitalization of indigenous culture, preservation of human rights, and, most importantly, sovereignty over tribal lands, and the return of land they claimed to have been unlawfully confiscated.

In 1971, AIM started to protest and highlight issues with the Bureau of Indian Affairs that administered land trusts and programs for Native Americans.
