In the 1950′s amid the social, political and economic changes occurring
youth culture experienced a revolution of sorts. What it meant to be a
teen and the activities that defined teen culture drastically changed
from the past times of previous generations. With the debut of rock and
roll and influential artists, teens were boppin’ and swingin’ their hips
more than ever before. The music brought with it a culture of
rebellion. Never before were the wholesome teens exposed to sex and
drugs. The exposure frightened many especially those concerned with the
moral decay of society.
