After WW1, many nations were in debt and were declining in certain aspects, totalitarianism promised a more centralized and effective government. The Great Depression made Fascism become even more popular with many nations adopting the new ideology, such as Spain, Germany, Siam, Venezuela, Brazil, Peru, and even a strong political party in Britain led by Oswald Mosley.
