The Americans had a equal cause in trying to take down the British and gain freedom. Where the British didn't have a substantial reason to win. The main reason England wanted to win was because they were using the colonies as a source of natural resources. The Americans were backed up by the French because England was like their enemy too. The French were like, hey the young colonies might have a chance at defeating England. So the French gave food, clothes, weapons, and other supplies. The colonies had smart people, who were the founding fathers, that wrote the Declaration of Independence which helped set foot in an independent nation. The Americans had these great political people who would help in the process of creating the United States. The colonies had a great general, George Washington. Without him and his well laid out plans, we would not have been an independent nation.
