Suppose you had to find 4x57. How are expanded algorithm and standard algorithm alike? How are they different?

i guess 4 x 57 = 4(50 + 7) = 200 + 28 = 228. 
The other is to say 57 x 4: 
7x4 = 28 write down the 8 and carry the 2. 
5x4 = 20, add 2 to get 22 and write 22. 
Answer is 228.
