When choosing someone for a team or even a job, the individual chosen should be the best available option. They should be able to perform all of the tasks needed and have skill that surpasses the competition. Gender should not be a factor at all in choosing the best candidate. This should be the case in every scenario where individuals are competing for a place. If you have the skills, and are better than the competition then you should be the one that gets chosen.
