Two causes of the American revolution are anger from the colonist because they had to pay taxes to the British for the French and Indian war. But these taxes were something they had no control over. So the argument of no taxation without representation came up. There were also the intolerable acts which were laws passed by the British in 1774 to punish people living in Massachusetts… The colonist for the Boston tea party. These acts closed the Boston Harbor, replaced the elective local government with an appointed rep, allowed for the quartering act which made the colonist house British troops that were in America. They were now independent country who no longer had to rely on their mother country who wasn’t around all that much.Americans changed their politics, economics, and society after being released from British control. They had to build a democracy after being in a monarchy. There was also an increase in population due to the new industries and technological advances.
