Polar bears are predators that live in the Arctic. Why would a polar bear that is born with naturally darker fur be less likely to survive than one with white fur?
A The darker fur would cause to polar bear to overheat in summer months as dark fur retains heat more than light fur.
B It would be mistaken for a different animal and hunted by other polar bears.
C It is more easily seen by predators, or it may be more easily seen by its prey and so cannot catch enough food.
D Darker fur is more dense than lighter fur, when wet, the darker fur would be a disadvantage to the polar bear as it would not be able to swim as efficiently.
