Collin buys strawberry gum in packs of 9 pieces and blueberry gum in packs of 12 pieces. If Collin wants to buy the same amount of each type of gum, what is the smallest number of pieces of each flavor that he must buy? How many packages of strawberry gum will he have to buy? How many packages of blueberry gum?

Think of it like this where X is amount of packs for strawnerry gum and y is blue berry gum. 9x=12y. if you get 4 packs of strawberry gum you get 36 pieces and if you get 3 packs of blueberry gum you get 36 pieces also. so you would do 9(4)=12(3). Hope I helped!
