The distribution of fossil fuels on Earth suggests that the population was low when compared to now and there was also less technology adopted.
Plants and animals which died millions of years ago were gradually covered
with dust through wind erosion as a result of less technological innovation
such as burying in coffins etc. They were put in tombs which made fossils to
be discovered as a result of direct contact with rocks and soil components.
