Recycling is important because it refuses materials that would otherwise be wasted. However, it can still require lots of resources and money to recycle something back into a usable product, and many places do not have access to recycling facilities for specific materials and they either have to be transported (expensive and produces carbon dioxide) or cannot be recycled.
