1.) The industrial age came with a lot of consequences, some of them positive, some others negative:

-It allowed for a faster technological advancement

-It changed the way resources were distributed

-It created more inequality as some people became owners of the means of production and were able to define work conditions. (This set the basis for the inequality crisis nowadays)

-It caused urbanization, as people were now shifting away to cities, where the jobs were, this also caused a growth in population.

2.) In the US political machines have defined the direction of politics and the creation of new policies and laws. Throughout its entire history, it has been a truth that some political machines that represent only a sector of the population have had more power. As the country grew in capitalist ideologies, political machines started to grow around people with great amounts of money, and therefore law turned more to their side, allowing them to get even richer.
