Respuesta :
1. Ancient climate
2. He could not provide a mechanism for the movement of the continents.
Further Explanation:
PART 1:
The ancient climate did not have any effect on the continental drift hypothesis. Continental Drift is known to be a theory in which the Continents of the Earth have moved over a geologic time that is relative to each other and that is the reason why they appear to have “Drifted” across the ocean bed. Evidence related to the movement of the continents on the tectonic plates is now more extensive and it is as similar as the plant and animal fossils that are found around the shores of the different countries which suggest that they were once joined by these continents.
For instance, The fossil of Mesosaurus which is a small reptile just like a small crocodile is found in both South Africa and Brazil and there have also been much-living evidence where the same living animals are being found on the two continents and the most relatable example to it will be earthworms which are found in South America and Africa.
PART 2:
The Theory of continental drift of Wegener was not accepted for many years as according to many other scientists, the driving force of the theory was missing and the second issue which scientists found with his theory was that the Wegener’s estimate of the speed of continental motion was very high. One thing which also went against Wegner was that he was not a geologist and the other geologists believed that the evidence Wegener presented was not sufficient.

The option that was not used in the support of the continental drift is ancient climate.
The main reason Wegener’s continental drift hypothesis was rejected was that he could not provide a mechanism for the movement of the continents.
Continental Drift is a theory in which the Continents of the Earth moved over a geologic time that is relative to each other. To support continental drift, fossil evidence, paleomagnetism, and the fit of South America and Africa were used.
Wegener could not provide a mechanism for the movement of the continents and this led to the rejection of the continental drift hypothesis.
